about
“Ghost Flower” is the combination between two different but complementary voices, two artists that are part of the Romanian alternative scene, which play different musical genres, but with the same purpose, the same love language. The songs is telling the story of the end of a love relationship and expresses the pain each of the lovers is going through with an alt soul with jazz and blues influenced soundtrack.
“Love is like a playground were we often stage our feelings, thoughts and sentiments. It’s like a battlefield full of flowers instead of weapons, that can burn in any moment if you don’t take good care of it. And then … you’re left with shadows of the memories you’ve experienced together, that eventually turn into ghosts… you don’t see them anymore, but you can feel their presence so intensely!
Sometimes this field we cherish so much can break us and the risks we take to protect it can become too challenging… “Ghost Flower” is about passion and sensuality, darkness and enlightenment… that struggle between two lovers to overcome the conflict and the heartbreak, as well as that on and off “play” of egos and possessiveness that comes from the deep fear of losing each other.” Catalina says
The video for “Ghost Flower” is directed by the most prolific Romanian directors, Hypno (Bogdan Moldoveanu) an avid supporter of the Romanian alternative scene which has in his portfolio videos for Subcarpati, Omul cu Sobolani, Golan, Parov Stelar, Moonlight Breakfast, Jurjak and many more. The video takes us through the last night spend by two vampires lovers which were together since many decades and they decide that it’s time for something new. The main characters are played by Dragos God and Irene Albu, and Catalina Cara and Jurjak tell the story by singing the song. The image was done by the director of photography, Alexandru Dorobantu and his team and the styling were done by Ovidiu Buta having on board a team of the best professionals Gratiela Hîra, Alex Ifimov, Delia Tudose si Oana Ilie.
lyrics
Your love is just another shadow, it’s always mine
I wish I loved you no more but, my heart chose you
When your touches travel my skin they drop off that line
Cause you pull off those built up fences , and now you’re gone
I don't wanna cry for you
Don't wanna try for you
Cause I almost died for you
And You didn't want me to
So It's time for something new
Sometimes you make me feel lonley
But that is fine
I know that a I’m the one and only
That blows your mind
I saw you dancing in the moonlight
You got me blind
My love is just another shadow
But your heart is mine
I will cry for you
I will try for you
I almost died for you
But you dont want me to
It’s time for something new
